First of all, exotic animals shouldn’t be kept as pets because they could be dangerous. Exotic animals can be very dangerous because they could hurt or even kill someone because they aren’t used to our  environment they are used to being on the wild. “The HSUS has tracked more than 1,700 dangerous incidents since 1990 involving big cats, bears, primates, elephants, large constrictor snakes, and other exotic animals that resulted in scores of deaths and hundreds of injuries.” Also born free usa reported 1,500 attacks, escapes and other incidents involving exotic animals since 1990. This is one of the reasons why exotic animals shouldn’t be kept as pets.

 

Secondly, capturing exotic animals threatens their survival. “When wild-caught animals are kept as pets, their suffering may begin with capture every year countless birds and reptiles suffer and die on the journey to the pet store.” Also wild animals could also suffer when they are put on a cage because they become cramped because they are meant to live in the wild where they have a lot of space. Sometimes the exotic animals become sick or die because their owners don’t know how to care for them correctly and that could affect their survival. Capturing exotic animals threatens their survival and this is another reason why exotic animals shouldn’t be kept as pets.

 

Next, exotic animals spread diseases these diseases could be very dangerous and harmful to humans. Exotic animals could spread different types of diseases for example rabies, herpes B, and Salmonella. “Tens of thousands of people get Salmonella infections each year from reptiles or amphibians, causing the CDC to recommend that these animals be kept out of homes with children under five.” Also herpes B virus are commonly found on macaque monkeys and this virus could be VERY dangerous to humans. This is another reason why exotic animals shouldn’t be kept as pets.

 

Finally, Exotic animals shouldn’t be kept as pets. A reason why exotic animals shouldn’t be kept as pets is because exotic animals could be very dangerous. Also capturing exotic animals threatens their survival. And these exotic animals spread very dangerous diseases which could affect humans and get them really sick. Exotic animals belong in the wild and should be free in the wild instead of being on a cage. These are reasons why exotic animals shouldn’t be kept as pets.
