Island of the Blue Dolphins

This book takes place off the coast of California in an island called San Nicolas Island. San Nicolas island is a beautiful island where blue dolphins splash in the water, otters swim around the island, and seabirds fly around looking for food. One day indians came to the island and they lived there for several years one day they decided to leave and they sailed back to the east. When they packed everything and they got on the ship they realized that they had left a young girl on the island they tried to go back but it was too late. The girl that was left behind her name was Karana she waited year after year for the ship to return. But the ship never came back to the island the ship never returned. Karana realized that she has to take action and do something so she tries to sail back to the east by herself but she fails she tries to look for ways to go back to the east because if she doesnt find a way back she was going to stay alone in that island for the rest of her life.

What I liked about the book: What I liked about the book was that I like how the character has alot of adventures and a lot of interesting things happen throughout the book.

What I disliked about the book: What I disliked about this book was that the author didn’t describe in detail Karana’s family and in the book the author never explained why her family never returned to look for her or what happened to them after they left the island.
